Cartridge Save is the UK’s biggest dedicated online printer cartridge retailer, selling print consumables to over 200,000 customers nationwide. They regularly rank highest on independent shopper surveys, winning an Experian Hitwise UK Top 10 Award and featuring in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table.

While working with the company, I redesigned their bespoke eCommerce website and created a new mobile platform. The existing design framework was largely antiquated, and had no provision for delivering readily accessible content to consumers using mobile or tablet devices.

Having reviewed the design and how it related to both the brand and user’s shopping experience, I set about restructuring the interface, clarifying the visual language and employing colour psychology to establish a brand-friendly colour system, giving careful consideration to how the volume of data and information would be interpreted across multiple screen sizes and how this would effect user interactions. In addition, I introduced a number of functional design components including retina ready graphics, scalable vector icons and custom fonts to significantly improve consistency, versatility, load times and site speed.

The advancements in design and user experience across the website have achieved measurable levels of success, optimising conversion rates while providing consumers with a better connected browsing and buying experience, enabling Cartridge Save to remain number one in a fiercely competitive marketplace.
